Courtroom Access Committee’s Inaugural Motion Practice Workshop

In today’s “Zoom” world, there’s no substitute for experiencing court in a physical courtroom. On September 30, 2024, our Courtroom Access Committee hosted the first Motions Practice Workshop, an initiative designed to give less-experienced attorneys, especially women, the opportunity to argue a motion in-person before a sitting judge.  We are so grateful to Chief Judge Sayfie, who made this event possible, and to Judge Areces, Judge Simon, and Judge Walsh, who provided our participants with invaluable experiences and feedback.  And we are so proud of our participants—congratulations!

After the workshop, we enjoyed a cocktail reception with judges, participants, and mentors at Mangrove. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this important initiative.  Stay tuned for our next Motions Practice event.
