Congratulations to Kathleen Leon, Recipient of the MDFAWL Judge Shelley Kravitz Scholarship!
Kathleen is a 3L at FIU College of Law where she is a member of the World Arbitration and Mediation Review and FIU Board of Appellate Advocates. As a former homeless unaccompanied minor, she entered school illiterate at the age of eight. She learned what it "meant to gather myself up by my non-existent bootstraps, and teach myself how to read and write." The injustices that she endured as a child propelled her to focus on her education and mentor other women. After law school, she will work as an Assistant State Attorney.
